What is Balance, Stability and Coordination?
Sports Definition: balance is the ability to stay upright or stay in control of body movement, and coordination is the ability to move two or more body parts under control, smoothly and efficiently.
There are two of balance:
Static balance - The ability to maintain equilibrium when stationary.
Dynamic balance - The ability to maintain equilibrium while moving.
Our eyes, ears and 'body sense' help to retain our balance. Coordination is a complex skill that involves not only good balance, but good levels of other fitness components such as strenth and agility. Balance and stability can be improved through routine practice and training within specific sports.
